Getting to Know Deborah Lindsey

I was desperate to found a solution, so I tried everything I could find (and afford). Despite trying various methods, nothing seemed to work until I discovered EFT during a free alternative healthcare clinic in West Virginia. 

This amazing man named Ken walked me through the technique. To be fair, I thought he was nuts! How was this strange tapping technique going to help me with my anxiety?! I think I even rolled my eyes at him! 

But I couldn't deny that it had worked. My shaking stopped. And an internal calm set in that I had not felt in years. I was hooked! 

Once I discovered something that worked, I was like a dog with a bone and I went all in on learning everything I could about EFT Tapping.

This experience led me to pursue extensive EFT training, eventually earning certification from pioneers Gary Craig and Patricia Carrington, fueling my passion for helping others.

I incorporated EFT into my existing alternative healthcare practice, where at the time, I was exclusively using a protocol JMT, the Jaffe-Mellor Technique. EFT quickly became my primary modality due to its fast, obvious, and profound results.

For the next twelve years, I worked one-on-one, in person with clients on a day-to-day basis at my healing center called "The Self-Health and Awareness Center". This hands-on experience allowed me to develop a profound skillset, even creating new techniques that have advanced the field of EFT Tapping. Many of these techniques are taught now in the Premier Online EFT Certification Training I teach at the Center for EFT Studies.

My extensive hands-on practice separates me from virtually all other trainers in the field, most of whom have used EFT primarily as a research tool or a sideline to their primary practices. For me, EFT was my life.  

In 2001, having met the training criteria set by EFT Founder Gary Craig, I began offering Live EFT Workshops, closely following the standards he set forth for EFT Certification.

For the next 8 years, I trained students in a live setting, honing my skills, learning what worked, and what I didn't. I could see the weaknesses in the training and used that to constantly improve both by teaching materials and my teaching style. 

In 2008 and 2009, I took on the arduous task, along with an incredible team of professionals, to create the International Metaphysical University. 

Online training was in it's infancy. The tools needed to create online courses were far and few between. But we prevailed to create a fully-functional online university dedicated to teach students about metaphysical topics and concepts along with an entire program in alternative healthcare. 

As part of that project, I created the first online EFT Certification program in the world. To be honest, we were skeptical that it could even be done. 

What we found, to our surprise, was that the online EFT training was infinitely superior to the live workshops. The online platform gave me the opportunity to teach students everything they needed to know to embody a professional EFT skillset. More importantly, it gave students the time they needed to do so. And it was now available to students around the world. 

One of my favorite parts of teaching EFT online was that I was no longer tethered to my office. By this time an online video platform called Skype was becoming widely used and it was possible to take clients over video call. (I still have a special affinity for Skype). 

At first this seemed crazy! But it worked! And it allowed me to begin my own journey of discovery as I traveled around the world. Armed with my laptop, in 2013 I left behind my in-office practice, now working with clients and students exclusively online. 

After a few years of constant travel, I settled my behind in Panama City, Panama, where I remain to this day. 

In 2016, I decided that it was time to leave behind my responsibilities at the International Metaphysical University to focus full time on my EFT Training and the Center for EFT Studies was born.

At the time it was only called, "Online EFT Certification", hence our URL, because we were still the only Online EFT Certification program teaching fully-integrated EFT Certification training online.

Later, we added the name, The Center for EFT Studies, to more accurate reflect the work that we were doing, but decided to keep our original URL to avoid confusing our many students. 

Over time it became clear that students were asking for and needing more extensive training. Many people wanted to become EFT Masters. 

So I created the program. This was the first time that anyone outside of Gary Craig had created an EFT Master Certification Program. No guidelines had been set forth and so I was now on my own to design a program befitting an EFT Master. 

I opted to focus on adding advanced techniques, many of which I had discovered myself, while teaching students how to work with more complicated and complex clients, that I call "life clients." 

This program has now trained hundreds of EFT Master Practitioners and is still the online online EFT Certification program to regularly offer EFT Master Training online. 

At the time, we were unable to qualify for accreditation through the mainstream accrediting agencies because they were still stuck on the idea that one had to take a live workshop in order to be fully qualified as an EFT practitioner. 

Truth be told, there were other things about these accrediting agencies that didn't sit right with me, including the need to pay them annually for continuing education credits. To me, any practitioner who was in the field was learning more from their hands-on experience than they were going to learn from required filler workshops. To me, it looked like a money-grab, not a legitimate need. 

Like my hero Gary Craig, I also believed that people in general are very capable of knowing what training they need and when, and that did not need to be dictated by a far away corporation that was just checking off boxes. 

So we decided to create our own, more modern EFT Accrediting Agency. That Became the Association of EFT Practitioners, AEFTP. 

While I never worked in the day-to -day operations of AEFTP, I had a hand in it's initial creation. Over time, AEFTP was handed off to a team of others and I no longer have any role within the organization, other than maintaining our AEFTP accredited status. 

I am proud of what AEFTP has become and have come to realize that they are one of the best EFT accrediting programs out there. 

In 2020, I was honored to be invited to be a speaker on the Tapping World Summit, which went out to more than a million people around the world. My topic, Breaking the Cycle of Chronic Financial Anxiety to Find Peace, was later tuned into a comprehensive online course that is available to this day on this platform. 

In 2020, I decided to recreate my training to modernize it and include newly discovered techniques and add additional content.  I truly believe that the Premier Online EFT Certification program is the best on the market. It is cutting-edge, comprehensive, and interactive. It gives any serious student of EFT certification everything they need to be an incredible professional EFT practitioner. 

During my many years as an alternative healthcare practitioner and teacher, I had the pleasure of getting certified in a multitude of different alternative healthcare modalities.  

The most important of these modalities, to me, was the Jaffe-Mellor Technique (JMT). JMT was also my first modality and taught me an incredible amount about the world of healing. I used JMT alongside of my EFT practice for many years and became quite expert in it's application. I still use JMT in my own life on occasion to this day. 

With time, I began experimenting with integrating teachings from JMT into my work as an EFT practitioner. This was particularly useful when working with chronic illness. When I would find myself facing clients with particularly daunting issues, I would combine my teachings, safely experimenting with the combined technique. 

Over time, this new blend of techniques became an entirely different brand of EFT Tapping, that I call "Instructional EFT." 

To test the technique, and to advance what I had learned, I created the Instructional EFT course, where I, along with the advanced students in the course, tested and bended and developed this protocol into something tangible. 

While still in it's early stages, IEFT has proven to be a highly effective advanced technique for use with clients who present serious illnesses like autism, alcoholism, and autoimmune disorders. This beta program is available to students here at the Center for EFT Studies who are interested in testing the limits of EFT Tapping and advancing it's growth into the future. 

As Gary Craig famously said, "We are standing on the shoulders of Giants." 

Now that Gary is well into his senior years, I think it is our turn at bat. I think that that each of us is tasked with the responsibility of taking EFT into it's next phase of development and I see IEFT as my contribution to that.

I invite each of you to stand on my shoulders, as I stand upon theirs, to take EFT Tapping to be among the greatest healing tools ever gifted to mankind.
