The Emotional Freedom Technique is an alternative healthcare technique, sometimes referred to as Energy Psychology.
It is a technique that was founded by Gary Craig in the early 1990's that uses tapping on a sequence of meridian points on the body while tuning into a specific memory or feeling in order to remove energetic blockages that may be causing symptoms.
Over the past few decades, the technique has travelled like wildfire around the world due to it's ease of use, minimal side effects, and rapid, generally-permanent results.
It can be used to address trauma, anxiety, emotional distress, addictive behaviors, limiting beliefs, fears and phobias, PTSD, along with physical pain, and so much more. In it's advance uses, it can even be used for issues like autoimmune disorders and chronic pain.
Obviously, the world tapping refers to the percussive taps that are integrated into the EFT tapping process.
Tapping was original discovered in China and has been used for centuries by energy-based healers in the East as a way to activate or flow "chi" (life force) energy and keep the body healthy.
Later, the process of tapping was integrated into a technique called Thought Field Therapy, which was created by Dr. Roger Callahan, and was later transformed into what we know today as the Emotional Freedom Techniques.
