In or about 1995, Deborah found herself wracked with anxiety so severe she would crawl under her desk at her work to avoid any additional stress. Having started a business several years earlier that was now responsible for as many as 5 employees and 700 bands (she worked in the music industry helping to make artists famous), the stress of it all had become overwhelming. Unable to afford healthcare (thank God), she had to go on a journey of both self-healing and self-discovery in order to heal herself.
It wasn’t until she was introduced to the Emotional Freedom Techniques, EFT, that she found the relief she was looking for. She went on to complete Gary Craig’s training series (more than 145 hours of training) and became a voracious student of EFT. In the meantime, she had opened The Self-Health and Awareness Center in Vienna, West Virginia and now began using EFT with her clients full time.
Over the next decade, she went on to study a wide-range of complementary techniques including JMT (Jaffe-Mellor Technique), hypnosis, NLP, kinesiology, reiki, Quantum Touch, Kolaimni, Pranic Healing, Pranic Psychotherapy, and more.
In 2001, she began teaching the tapping certification training in live workshops throughout the US. In her more than 17 years as an EFT practitioner and trainer, she has trained and certified more than 2,000 practitioners worldwide and worked with innumerable clients.
In 2009, she led a team of professionals to create The International Metaphysical University, an online university devoted to the “exploration of consciousness through education.” Here they offered comprehensive coursework in alternative healthcare and spirituality. She continues in her role as President of IMU to this day.
From this came the opportunity to offer the EFT Tapping certification training online, a much more convenient and comprehensive program where students from all over the world can get certified as professionals in the Emotional Freedom Techniques Online. The online format allowed her to pursue her dream of traveling around the world, where she sees clients and works with students wherever she goes.
Most recently, she helped to create the Association for EFT Professionals (AEFTP) where she currently sits on the board of directors helping to guide its vision into the future.
She currently lives in Panama City, Panama.
